My Awakening by David Duke

Former Klan leader and current Louisiana Republican David Duke has published an autobiography that is nearly 680 pages long. In the book Duke shares his views on several topics. David graduated from LSU with a bachelors degree. He writes as an expert in history, genetics, sociology, family, race and politics. Duke is not short on opinions.
Past state Representative Duke, was raised by an alcoholic mom and a military father. Duke grew up in Louisiana and as a child often wondered in the swamps around New Orleans collecting specimens.
David claims often in the manuscript that he was indoctrinated with the wrong ideas. TV, the Jewish owned home newspaper he once delivered, his church and school teachers tried to mislead him. But, David uncovered the real truth for himself. He was constantly in battle with his New Orleans public school and private school teachers over what was the real historical evidence. This continued at LSU where the activist often challenged the standard historical positions held by professors.
David’s biological interests in the swamps led him to apply his conclusions to the human species.107 He concluded early on that blacks had vast differences from Anglo Saxons. Anglos came from a more harsh cold climate that caused them to evolve to a higher level of intelligence. Blacks were quick to laugh, more easily angered, prone to cry and be tempermental.29 Duke says that 25 percent of blacks are below 75 in IQ and thus classified borderline retarded. David supports the Bell Curve.59 The Bell Curve is an often cited study by racists who believe it teaches Negro intelligence is below white averages.
The author, a one time candidate for governor in his home state, says he got more white votes than any other candidate. He implies that the logical answer for most of our social problems is racial in nature. Genetics causes most social issues.97 David even believes that being homosexual is caused by genetics. This places David at odds with the Religious Right who has embraced his candidacy in his home state.
Not only did educators get it wrong, so did the modern church. Duke claims the mainline denominations were segregated for 1960 years until the Civil Rights movement decided "Jesus was all wrong."102 David claims to agree with the Christian Identity movement whom he calls his friends.272 Identity adherents are in the extreme right wing fringe of the Christian Right believing blacks are a different species from the chosen seed of God...the Anglo Saxons of Europe.
Racial mixing will place the U.S. on the same economic level as South America if it continues according to the author.118 At one time Duke and his Klan caused a media scene by patrolling the border between the U.S. and Mexico. David says such immigration threatens the domination of the American culture by White Europeans.
David writes that the fall of the West historically is found in Aryan breeding with their captured slaves.518 This racial mixing has led to the degrading of the whites and the uplifting of blacks. David suggests blacks with higher IQ’s have the benefit of white bloodlines.
Duke’s racial profiling is similar to Nazi social theories. While in Laos David taught Orientals working during the Viet Nam War with locals. David suggested that Chinese were the smartest. These ethnics were followed by the Vietnamese, Lao, Thai and the least intelligent were the Montagnards. The lighter skinned did better on the tests.511
Duke believes his own daughters have definite genetic advantages in society because of their Aryan blood. He quotes a scientist who sees a blond actress marry a black man. The scientist is greatly distressed at this loss of a gene pool.655 The author fulfills a historical link with the Religious Right and anti semitism. Many readers are unaware of the rabid anti semitism found in the movement. You won’t be if you read Duke. More chapters promote anti semitism than promote anti black ideology. David gleaned some of his antisemitism from the Klan. The other he gathered from the White Citizens Council, which he attended as a youth. Several times the notorious anti semite Willis Carto is quoted in the manuscript. David gives this right wing leader credit for his influence.493
Duke believes that radical feminism and the evil Civil Rights movement are and were led by Jews.213 David believes the Jews of today are mixed racially with the Khazars of Western Asia.271 Duke contends that actually Jews destroyed public education since they led the Civil Rights movement.283 He adheres to the secret Jewish conspiracy theories about international Jewish organizations who control the world. Duke believes the Jews want to rule the U.S. culturally, spiritually and politically.292 David quotes "Spotlight Magazine" which is the leading anti semitic newspaper in the nation. He also credits Dr. Fields of White Citizen’s Council fame who publishes the current anti semitic and anti Negro magazine, "The Truth at Last".321
It is not Aryan Italians, but actually Jews, Duke believes who were the original mafia.343 Jewish groups wish to flood the nation with immigrants who want to create a cultural diversity that will grant them an arena to flourish in.365 The Jewish media wishes to destroy the Aryan gene.540 This is why David must organize White Europeans to ward off such an assault. On the one hand David quotes the British Israel theory about the intermingling of Jews with Khazars. Then he takes an opposite position claiming that Jews seldom marry outside of their own ethnic group.455 Duke claims Jews desire Anglos mix their bloodlines with blacks yet seek to preserve their own. The author complains that Jews promote diversity in the US yet do not tolerate it in Israel.
David brags about a confrontation he had with Jerry Rubin, one of the defendants in the Chicago trial concerning the riot at the Democratic Party Convention during the late sixties. Duke walks up to Rubin after Jerry’s speech at a college and challenges him to a fist fight calling Rubin a "Jewish Commie Bastard".552 David was proud that Rubin ran away from this confrontation.
On pages 100 through 101 racial traits of Europeans and Africans are compared through two lengthily columns. In this evaluation Europeans have a higher intelligence but blacks reproduce faster. Whites score higher on personality traits and social patterns. The chart leads to the obvious fascist positions Duke holds.
David says that Hitler had a lot more racial understanding than other leaders of his time.584 David denies the Holocaust ever happened and claims crimes perhaps greater were committed by Allies against the Germans.401 The Jewish controlled media has slanted the news and fabricated stories like the Holocaust and myths like Ann Frank’s diary.402 The actual truth, according to Duke, is that the forces of Jewry caused W.W.II and not Hitler’s Germany.483 Hitler was only seeking to fight Communism which according to Duke is a Jewish organization.
David says he flirted at one time with going into the Christian ministry. He reminds readers that in the 20’s ministers were frequently the most avid backers of the Klan.484 When David took his oath at a swearing in ceremony into the Klan a Bible was present on an altar open to the book of Romans. 486 Duke used Biblical backing for the idea of blacks forming a separate nation.257 It is interesting to note while David was a nationally known Klan leader he and his wife ran a child care center at the Woodlawn Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.576
Duke, who has his own web site, is active in politics in Louisiana, Republican leaders like Dan Quyale and George Bush sought to destroy David by their influence. Lee Atwater even went after Duke’s campaign.
A summary of Duke’s politics can be found in his story about rats he was raising as a youth. He noted that the offspring he was attempting to sell was wild and excitable, not like the more loving pets he expected. He noted that what he actually had were two females of domestic stock. Wild rats had snuck into the cage and ruined the crop. This is what David thinks is happening genetically to the U.S.71
While in India David as a youth is infuriated at a man’s treatment of a bear. He wanted to take the whip and use it on the trainer.520 I found it rather interesting that David felt such sympathy for the animal but little for the starving masses he beheld in India. David Duke’s great fear is that the U.S. will end up like this racially mixed up India.
