Windows 95/98 Livingston.net Dial-up Setup

1) Know your username and password. 2) From the Windows 98
desktop, open "My Computer," and double click on "Dial-up
Networking" 3) From here double click on
"Make New Connection." 4) Type in Livingston.net for
the computer you are dialing and hit next. 5) Type in the area code
and phone number for your local dialup number.
(If you are not sure if the number is a local
dialup number for you please call your phone company) 6) Hit next and then Finish at the bottom of the screen. 7) Now you should see an Icon named "Livingston.net" right click on that and click on "Properties." This window will appear.
8) Verify that the correct phone number is entered in here. Then click on the "Server Types" tab. Once this window appears make sure it looks exactly as shown. With "Enable Software Compression" and "TCP/IP" checked.
9) After you hit ok you will
be taken back to the Dial-up Networking screen. From there right click
on the Livingston.net icon and choose "Create Shortcut" 10) Answer yes to the Alert
Box that pops up: 11) Then close the
Dial-up Networking screen and if you notice there will be a Shortcut to
Livingston.net icon on the desktop. Double click on that icon and you
will get the following screen. 12) Type in your username and password that you got from Livingston.net. Then hit connect and your computer should start dialing. (You can check the save password box if you don't want to have to type your password in every time you connect) Note: Your username and password are case sensitive.
