Timber marketing is slightly different than timber sales. In timber marketing you may have a previously marked and unsold volume of timber, or a specialty product that needs to be exposed to a larger market than may be available to you. Staples Forestry will market wood products to the local, regional, or international market.
Every specialty marketing has peculiarities of its own. For example, we successfully marketed a previously harvest pile of eastern red cedar logs. The owner approached us to find a buyer for the cedar. We contacted several specialty mills, located a shipper, had the logs milled to cants, containerized, and shipped to Mexico.
The cost of these types of operations are negotiated, but may be based on an hourly rate, and based on contracts.
